STATEMENT OF THE ISSUE:

It is suggested that the keyword [Disclaimer] be allowed to occur multiple 
times, but [Date], [Source], [Notes], and [Copyright] keywords should be 
allowed to occur only once.

STATEMENT OF THE RESOLVED SPECIFICATIONS:

Change Usage Rules under the [Date] [Source] [Notes] [Disclaimer] 
[Copyright] section to read the following:

| Usage Rules:  Information following these keywords can contain blanks, and
|               be of any format.  The [Date] keyword argument is limited to a 
|               maximum of 40 characters.
|
|               Because RAIL file writers may consider the information in 
|               these keywords essential to users, and sometimes legally
|               required, design automation tools must make this information 
|               available.  Derivative files must include this text
|               verbatim.  Any text following the [Copyright] keyword must be 
|               included in any derivative files verbatim.  The
|               [Disclaimer] keyword can occur more than once, but the 
|               [Date], [Source], [Notes], and [Copyright] keywords can 
|               occur only once.

ANALYSIS PATH/DATA THAT LED TO SPECIFICATION:

The Version 1.1 "Usage Rules" under the [Date] [Source] [Notes] [Disclaimer] 
[Copyright] section says the following:

| Usage Rules:  Information following these keywords can contain blanks, and

|               maximum of 40 characters.

|               Because RAIL file writers may consider the information in 
|               these keywords essential to users, and sometimes legally

Neither the IBIS nor the RAIL spec have made the distinction as to 
whether any or all of these keywords can be used more than once.  Due to 
IBIS historical reasons it is suggested that the keyword [Disclaimer] be 
allowed to occur multiple times since multiple IBIS files have more
than one [Disclaimer] section, and Version 2.1 of the IBIS parser has 
been corrected to allow multiple [Disclaimer] keywords. However, [Date], 
[Source], [Notes], and [Copyright] keywords should be allowed to occur 
only once.
